Cabaret Voltaire Societe & Diversions first began in 2015 as a University of Victoria Students Society club devoted to showcasing underrepresented and vibrant local experimental musicians and artists within the Victoria and Uvic community. The club still exists today and is greatly involved with the Cabaret Voltaire Societe & Diversions Gelfling Arts Camp, which takes place at the University Campus during the summer. It is a volunteer and experience opportunity for students pursuing undergraduate degrees in Psychology, Visual Arts, Music and Early Education. During the Uvic School year the Club hosts the Student Mini Madness Makers Market in November, this market is special opportunity for student makers to sell their creations on campus and sometimes for their very first time! The club also presents a variety of other music and arts oriented events both on and off campus. The club’s ultimate purpose is to provide empowering opportunities for students both new and well established, to independently facilitate and organise events of any form. By putting youth in charge of their own ideas today, we are encouraging and supporting them to be driven and creative adults of the future!
Our Board Vice Chair Sage Summer is our current Club President of 2024-2025.
