He is a Somnambulist and our Mascot! That’s who! Cesare The Somnambulist is from the 1920 Expressionist classic, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, played by Conrad Veidt. In the film he is a captive divining somnambulist that has been in a wakeful sleep for 25 years in a mad man’s dream. But Cesare’s dramatic awakening in the film is a metaphor of the CVSD constitutional purpose to provide unique experiences of experimental art & music to the general public.
Cesare is each and every one of us, in a state of wakeful sleep, looking for the experience or diversion to reignite our creative drive!
